This Site is Changing...

Welcome to the home of Grassroots Landscaping, Inc.  This site will be undergoing some revamping both in context and information.  Grassroots is no longer an operating landscape design/build firm, rather Andy, the owner, has joined with another firm in the Omaha, NE area, CM's Custom Lawn and Landscape, to offer a greater selection of services and capacities to Omaha area.

This site will become a source of information relating to Sustainable landscaping and building projects, methods, and interacting with others in the area about their experiences.  Omaha is fast becoming a city that truly wants to change itself into a beautiful and efficient metro area.  Even though the main pieces to make this possible are there, i.e. city programs, organizations, business possibilities, it takes everyone educating themselves to make it work.  This isn't about global warming or politics, rather it is about making ourselves efficent and using our environment as a model for how to create a Sustainable community.

The site will remain as it has been with landscaping project pictures and information about the company in general until the new site is put together.  Contact Andy for any questions or comments you may have.

Thank you!

Dry Creek Project

In new neighborhoods, drainage can be a big problem, especially if you're downstream from your neighbors.  At this residence, their backyard is a main drainage channel for the neighborhood.  Standing water was a common problem they had to deal with, so we needed to develop a landscape that could address that problem.  A dry creek bed with elevated planting beds along the way was a great solution for this problem.  Though not pictured below, a bridge will be put over the dry creek bed to the back gate, which is being custom built by Sam here at Grassroots.

If you have any questions about dry creek beds, email us and we'll help you with any questions you have. Email: andy@grlandscaping.net
